Bold move—you’ve decided to work or study abroad! Before you make the move, you’ve found out that you need to take the IELTS exam. Here’s your guide for what to expect when taking the IELTS test in Israel.

How to Register for the IELTS Test in Israel

You can register for the IELTS test in Israel at ielts.org. Click on “Book a Test” at the top right, choose your preferred location (Ramat Gan or Haifa), and select from the list of available test dates. You will complete all four test sections (reading, writing, listening and speaking) on the same day, with the speaking section happening separately from the other three sections. All forms of the IELTS test in Israel are currently offered on computer only.

How to Study for the IELTS Israel Exam

Start by familiarizing yourself with the test structure on the IELTS website (ielts.org), where you can also access free practice tests and other resources.

You can also prepare through organic practice on your own: read the news or other items in English and look up the words you don’t know. Talk to your friends in English, text them in English, and listen to English-language podcasts to improve your understanding of spoken English.

Looking for more comprehensive preparation? Here at Yeda Plus we have a weekly IELTS course that meets both in person and live on Zoom. The course covers all four sections of the exam and our small class size allows for individual attention from the teacher.

Not sure you need a full course? Yeda Plus also offers the option of one-on-one private lessons with our IELTS instructor. Talk to us about what you need and we will work with you to make it happen!

What to Bring to the IELTS Center on Exam Day?

It is crucial that you bring the physical passport that you used to register for the exam with you to the IELTS test center on test day! Without it, you will not be permitted to take the exam.

Do you have more than one passport? Make sure to bring the one you registered with to the test center.

The other item you can bring into the testing room is a clear water bottle with the label removed.

All of your belongings (phone, bag, keys, wallet) will be stored in a secure area at the test center during the exam. You will not be allowed to bring anything apart from a clear water bottle into the exam and your pockets will need to be empty.
